A lot of online marketers believe IM is one of the easiest business models to do. You’ve probably seen a million times, “easily make cash in your free time.” But the real truth is that IM is just like any other business model, and you’ll need to work and spend time on it if you ever want to see any money. One of the very first items on your agenda is to organize your business. Getting organized will help you make more money, and it will streamline your business so that you spend more time profiting and less time searching for things. And that’s what we’ll talk more about in the rest of this article.
Keep track of your finances. There are many IM marketers who don’t bother to maintain adequate records of their finances, such as cash flowing in/out. Many newer marketers take the view of money in the bank is success. It’s important to know about your finances for tax purposes and other reasons such as invoices, or refunds, etc. The easiest way to keep track of your spending and earning is to simply keep a ledger. So what you’ll do is make ledger entries of all transactions that take place. Then, at the end of the month just add the columns, and you’ll know what your monthly profit is. You can also use software like Quicken to do this for you.
Be sure to keep all your lists well organized. If you market several products and build lists, then of course you’ll have different email lists to manage. That’s why it’s important to maintain good organization with your lists. Most e-mail software comes with easily manipulated databases and list functions that will allow you to keep track of your contacts and e-mail addresses. Mozilla Thunderbird will allow you to organize folders for multiple email addresses and lists.
If you’re about to start a new project, you’ll make it easier if you write an outline. You can keep your projects moving along if you consult your outlines when making daily “to do” lists. You’ll never have to wonder about what’s next with your projects if you spend a little time doing this.
