Methods for Attracting People to Your Website

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

The website or blog is the lifeblood of every internet marketing business. It is where you convince site visitors to become buyers. It’s critical, as you know, to have a site that performs well in your marketing. However, the site/blog is only one component in online business. You’re going to need some traffic to that site, as well. Quite obviously, if no one knows it’s there… who’ll buy all your great stuff?

It’s really important, for different reasons, to keep your website updated with new content, and many people do that by tacking a blog to their sites. A site with old content, and never updated, will not get return visitors – usually, so you’ll depend upon making a sale during that once or second visit. You’ll be able to encourage people to return with fresh, updated, and useful content. You’ll be able to make more sales if people return to your site, preferebly every week. And you’ll able to establish your name in addition to getting more traffic. Everyone wins, and that’s the way it should be.

Try to check and make sure your site links are in good working order. Broken links will make your site difficult to navigate around. You don’t want to encourage your visitors to leave, once that happens they may never visit again. Another important reason is that they stop the search engine spiders and bots from crawling your site, and you never want that to happen.

It’s smart to give the Meta tag data in your sites HTML, or in your blog. For blogs, you’ll always want to use them or have an SEO plugin that will help you with that. Title and description meta tags will allow the search engines to properly identify what your site is about and give you more accurate listings.

You will want to avoid any differences between title and description information and your page content, as well. It isn’t hard to use meta tags and the benefits of giving them attention will pay off in the end.

There is no shortage of methods to attract website traffic; in fact, it can be difficult to know which ones you want to use. It’s best not to try to use too many at once, but stick to one at a time. Work at each method for a few months and, if it isn’t working, move on to another method.

When you find that something is working, you should then work at this method harder to bring you even greater success. There really isn’t any such thing as having too much website traffic. Some of your visitors will buy something from you, so increasing your traffic will mean increasing your sales!

How Internet Marketers Can Provide Good Customer Service

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Just because your business is online doesn’t mean that customer service is not critical to your success. Believe it or not, focusing on customer service is sometimes even more essential for online businesses. Think of how much competition there is on the web, with thousands of sites fighting over the same potential customers. What will set you apart from all of those other sellers? This is why it’s so crucial to offer top notch customer service! If you are able to communicate well with your customers and make them feel appreciated, they are more likely to continue buying from you. Those online businesses that are completely automated, where visitors cannot interact with the owners at all, don’t usually have many customers. You can start offering better customer service on your website by following these guidelines.

Always answer messages or e-mails from your customers as quickly as possible. Try to get back to them within one business day if you can. The messages you send should always be personally written by you. Don’t merely send out messages created on an autoresponder. Responding quickly to any questions, remarks or complaints shows people that you are a real person who cares about them. If you had an offline business, would you ignore customers who walked in the door or called you on the phone? You probably wouldn’t even think of treating them this way! Always make sure to keep up to date on customer feedback and seriously consider it. And even if your customer doesn’t like something you’re doing, try to make time to personally answer every email you receive. Negative feedback will often end up being more useful than positive because it allows you to seem areas that need improvement. If you take the time to write a response to your client’s email and point out a few specific things they wrote about in their email, you will show them that you care enough to read it, and they will be more likely to buy from you in the future! Because you are showing these customers that you actually see them as people and not just a sale, they will enjoy coming to you to buy from you time and time again.

Everyone likes free things, so be sure to give out free offers to your customers occasionally. Make sure you communicate with the people on your list by sending out more than sales promos, it is helpful to send out newsletters or other items. If you gain a reputation for only trying to sell to them, your e-mails are more likely to be deleted without being opened. If you show a willingness to give them value for nothing in return, they will start receiving your emails more willingly, though. Think about how much more popular you will be if you send out emails that describe the things other businesses are working on. This will demonstrate that you care not only about your bottom line, but also about the other members of your niche and your clients will be happy with this.

You can start to improve your customer service right now; just think about this aspect of your business with every action you take. One of the reasons people are hesitant to buy online is because they are afraid of being scammed and not receiving any customer service. There is no better way to relieve such fears and get people to trust you than to offer good customer service that is also personal.

Using Direct Mail to Promote Your Online Business

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

For those of us who have a lot of online business to do, we’re often ignorant of the fact that a lot of our buyers exist offline, and they could use our services. There are tons of people who either don’t use the Internet, or use it only occasionally that could want what you have to offer! When you’re running an online business, you have to remember offline marketing as well, especially given the glut of Internet businesses out there. Direct mail proves to be among the trusted and oldest means of offline marketing. Use this advice to create a successful direct mail campaign.

No matter if you send out a quick note or a postcard, be sure to hand write the addresses. Research indicates that individuals are far more likely to open mail which contains a handwritten address. What could be more important than this fact is that your recipient will be impressed that you actually took the time to write out the address. This means a lot in a time where almost everything is printed by computer. You may be thinking that this seems a bit overwhelming, especially if you plan to send out hundreds of letters, but if you do several a day you will have it finished in no time flat. If your handwriting is hard to read, ask for the help of someone else. Just like in e-mail marketing, people like receiving mail that is not meant to sell them anything. Keeping this mind, send out a newsletter every now and then that touches on some community issues or gives information about advancements in your chosen niche, rather than always trying to sell something. If you send out a few of these each year, people will be more likely to open up the mail and respond to the mail that does contain a sales pitch. Everyone likes to receive something for free, even if it’s just a newsletter!

As with all of the work that you do, you need to make sure that your mailings look professional and are free from noticeable errors. Never allow a direct mail piece to be sent that has simple mistakes on it, like spelling or typos. Even though this is an important piece of advice, it is more important when you send out direct mail. When someone reads a piece of mail, they generally pay more attention to things like this as opposed to email. Check everything at least a few times before you send anything out! Don’t make direct mailing more difficult than it has to be. As a matter of fact, if you use direct mail the right way, you could create a success out of your business in no time. Many of your competitors will ignore this strategy and online work online. They do not realize the amount of profit they are ignoring by not catering to a sizable chunk of the market. You could be pleasantly surprised at the response you may get from the people you send your mail out to. It’s happened before to others!

Internet Marketing Tips to Make Money Online

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

First, just about anyone is able to make money on the web. If it helps, you do realize everyone had to begin at the very beginning. It’s funny if you buy into the notion that anyone can make millions with their first online business (and quickly do it.) Still though, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of ways to earn an income on the net.

You’re only limit is your imagination and desire, but you can open a store and sell anything like information or physical products, you can be a freelance writer, take your experience and offer consulting, be a coach for something… anything. Fine… now we’ll forge ahead and talk about some things new IM marketers can think about and maybe use with online business.

Don’t overlook one of the most popular ways to make money online: auction sites such as Ebay. All you have to do is look for items in good condition that you may have around the house or garage and list them for sale on Ebay. If you want to make money in the long run, however, you have to have a system where you obtain many items at discounted prices that you can then list on Ebay for a profit.

Drop shipping is an even easier method, as this saves you the trouble of having to store anything yourself! When you start to sell items online, you can look everywhere for inexpensive things to resell; some people even profit from buying heavily discounted merchandise at retail stores and reselling it online. Another method is buying and selling domain names. If you ever get good ideas for domains, jot them down somewhere. This is an easy business: think of a good domain name, check if it’s still on the market, register it and then sell it to someone else who is looking for a domain name for their business. You will be surprised at what some will pay just for a domain name. This is a good example of a business model that you don’t need your own website for. There are online marketplaces where you can list and sell your domain names. Finding these websites could be as easy as surfing through a few forums to get some ideas. This business, which is sometimes called domain flipping, is very easy to get into.

You might prefer to begin a blog. Blogging about your own life can sometimes generate great profits. You can become quite successful if you choose a specific niche for your blog. It’s possible to earn revenue from your blogs in several ways. YOu might choose to sell advertising. You can find people willing to sponsor your blog posts. You can review items and get paid for it. As a reviewer, you could even receive plenty of free stuff that you could keep or you could choose to sell later. You might even get paid to include various topics within your blog, or to add links to other people’s sites in the posts for a fee. The possibilities for earning money with blogging are endless.

There are as many paths to making money online as there are ways to do it. Just take your time and find what you like, what you enjoy doing, and don’t worry about making mistakes because you will – guaranteed. Never give up, no serious marketer ever does, and in time you will find-out what it is you’re supposed to be doing.
